November 12, 2026What It Takes to Open a Practice in Central Florida
A free one-hour webinar for registered interns and newly licensed counselors in Orange, Osceola, Seminole, and Lake counties. November 12, 2026 · 12 pm - 1 pm · Online
Who is this for?
Registered mental health counselor interns who want a plan for the day the license posts. Licensed counselors in their first years who are ready to open, or who opened and met the quiet of an empty Tuesday. You might be seeing clients online and wanting a room. You might be in an agency and counting the months. If you practice in Orange, Osceola, Seminole, or Lake county and you’re already in motion, this hour was built for you.
What you will get
The Florida licensure math, laid out plainly: hours, supervision, and the five-year clock on intern registration
The supervision rule that decides where a registered intern can see clients in private practice, and how to plan your first room around it
The order the setup happens in, and roughly what each piece costs in Florida: entity, NPI, liability coverage, bank account, intake paperwork
A way to set your rate from your own numbers
A first look at the 3-2-1, the caseload framework at the center of the program
Everything you need to decide whether the founding cohort is yours
THE FOUNDING COHORT
On January 11 we open a twelve-week practice development program, and the first group through is a founding cohort. The program is designed, and the material is still being written. You’ll take each week as it’s built, tell us where it lands and where it misses, and leave your fingerprints on what every cohort after you receives.
Each week writes one page of your own practice plan: your credential runway, your values, your rate, your systems, your referral map, your caseload, your network, your clinical development, and what your practice gives back. Twelve weeks, twelve pages, a plan with your name on it. The local knowledge, meaning what things cost here, which prescribers take referrals, and who answers the phone, we gather together, county by county.
We meet Monday mornings, mostly online, with 2 sessions in person at our space in the UCF Business Incubator. The pilot is free. Participants who want a room for their own clients can book one at $35 an hour, with no monthly membership for as long as the cohort runs.
ABOUT CFCC
Central Florida Counseling Collective is a workspace and professional community for independent counselors, run as a social enterprise. We keep clinical offices at the UCF Business Incubator, open seven days a week from eight in the morning to nine at night. Members book the hours they need, keep every dollar their clients pay, and work alongside colleagues who know their names. Counselors who are supported and free will care for clients better. We built the place around that sentence.
ABOUT ME
I’m Brad Rahr, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida. Since 2019 I’ve worked with adults carrying complex trauma, grief, depression, and anxiety, and I’m trained in EMDR and narrative trauma care. I hold an MA in Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary and a BA in Philosophy from UCF. My wife, Ashley Rahr, LMHC, and I built our own practice, Kairos Counseling Collective, then founded CFCC after watching good clinicians leave the field because the business underneath them gave way. I supervise a graduate practicum clinician, and I’ll facilitate every week of this program.

Nothing. If you see clients at CFCC during the program, rooms are $35 an hour, with no monthly membership for as long as the cohort runs. You’re free to practice anywhere you like.

Yes. Florida law currently requires a licensed mental health professional on site when an intern sees clients in private practice, and our building has licensed counselors in it during regular hours. When you book, we’ll show you which hours that covers.
-
Not during our pilot phase at the UCF Business Incubator. No one under eighteen can be seen in our offices for now. If minors are part of your practice, you’re still welcome in the cohort, and you’ll need another room for those clients.Single-sign-on access streamlines user experience across devices.

No. The cohort is open to any licensed or registered counselor in the four counties, wherever you practice. If you’d like a room while you launch, you can book one at $35 an hour with no monthly membership for as long as the cohort runs. Membership is there when you want it.

Because you’re helping us build it. The founding cohort tests every week against real practices and tells us what to change. We pay for that work with access.

One live session each Monday morning, 1 hour , plus about 5 hours of work on your plan during the week.
